Let’s say you need to teach your kids about private proxies. You must teach them something so they can understand what are proxies and how to use them. For the sake of this exercise, we are going to consider that you need to teach your kids, however, this also applies to teaching and talking about private proxies with anyone that doesn’t know and is not aware of private proxies and their use. So let’s start and learn about the six things you can teach your kids or any other people about private proxies.

1. Private proxies are an anonymity and privacy tools

Private proxies are an anonymity tool because they allow its users to connect to third party websites or any other web platform through a proxy server. This server, the private proxy one, will take the user’s traffic and send it to the third party website. And it will advertise to the third party website its IP address. So any website visited through a private proxy or proxy server is not aware of the user’s real location. Therefore, the website can’t really track the user. This is why a proxy server with their IP channeling is an anonymity and privacy tool.

2. Private proxies are different than VPNs, virtual private networks

On the surface, both a proxy server and a VPN will do the same thing. They will mask the user’s IP and at the same time they will divert the user’s traffic through their server, reagardless if it’s the VPN server or the proxy server.

However, these are two different tools because the proxy server will only divert the user’s traffic. Whereas the virtual private network will also encrypt the user’s traffic at a system level. And create one extra layer of encryption between the user’s system and the VPN server. While we are not going to discuss which tools is better, we must only know the main difference between the two.

3. You can use private proxies to scale your project

One great way of using private proxies is how marketers do it. They use private proxies to scale a project and increase its chances of success. For example, a marketer can use private proxies to scrape the web and post multiple comments and forum posts with links pointing towards their website.

Thus, in this way marketers can scale their SEO efforts and revenue. In addition, marketers can use private proxies to scale other aspects or acquisition channels such as social media marketing or classified ads marketing.

4. There are several types of proxies

Above we talked about both private proxies and SEO proxies. However, there are other types of dedicated private proxies. Such as social media proxies, classified ads proxies, gaming proxies and so on.

All these proxies have borrowed the name of the domain/field in which they are used. For example, social media proxies are used for social media. Whereas classified ads proxies are used on websites like Craigslist.

They are called in this way, because these proxies are allocated on purpose to be used on these domains. Providers are doing so to make sure they will allocate working proxies for their customers. Whereas the customers need to always buy special use proxies to make sure they get working proxies. And they do not have flagged IPs.

5. You don’t always need private proxies

Not every action on the web needs to be perform through private proxies or VPN. You or nobody needs to divert their traffic through a server and a different IP. Therefore, when somebody ask if they need to buy private proxies, you can tell that their use is not necessary.

However, when the use of private proxies is required, then you must look for the best proxies you can buy. You must also teach them to look for special use proxies such as those described above. Because, it is worse to use a bad proxy with flagged IP than to not use one at all.

6. Anybody can use private proxies

The use of private proxies is only limited to one’s imagination. Therefore, if you are asked at any time if somebody can use private proxies, you can say with certainty that they can use private proxies as long as they know why their are using it. A private proxy user doesn’t need to be a business, marketer or hacker. Anybody can use private proxies to divert their traffic through a third party IP (the proxy server’s IP) and protect their real location.
